Mexico: UFO Reappears over Tepexpan

Mexico: UFO Over Tepexpan
A Report From Prof. Ana Luisa Cid
Date: November 26, 2007

A luminous, multicolored object was recorded by Mr. Victor Gabriel Gonzalez over the town of Tepexpan (State of Mexico).

The sighting took place on November 26, 2007 at 11:30 a.m.

The witness says that he was outside his workshop engaged in car repairs when he saw a flash in the sky toward the west. He realized that the glow came from a static object in the sky, so it gave him time to get his Sony 108 Mini-DVD camera ready.

"When I started recording," says González, "the UFO began to move slowly. It flew over the electric lines and then remained static at another point toward the east. It was at that time that I switched camera modes to take some photos. For that reason I have both video and photos, estimating that the sighting had a duration of 10 minutes."

"I stopped seeing the object because it literally dissolved into the sky. It became progressively weaker, although it returned to the same place half and hour later. It should be noted that I had already seen it and videotaped on an earlier occasion, but the best images I've taken are the ones from today. I found out that there was a strong tremor in Mexico City, and without saying that there's a connection between both events, they would appear to coincide."

ARGENTINA: UFO VIDEOTAPED IN S.E. BUENOS AIRES PROVINCE

A group of fishermen traveling through Coronel Dorrego in the Province of Buenos Aires managed to record what appears to be a UFO. They say it flew over a lagoon near the locality of Oriente, a place where extraterrestrial activity is suspected.

The news was broadcasted by LU24 following a series of sightings that became public after two police officers came forward with a close encounter of the third kind experience involving four "little men".

This new sighting took place on Sunday (Nov.18 2007) at 3:30 a.m. when the fishermen saw "a powerful light aimed at the windshield of the vehicle" in which they traveled to the Tamariscos Lagoon, as Gustavo reported on the Tres Arroyos radio station.

The strong light was spinning over one sector of the lagoon, an activity that went on long enough for the witnesses to be able to videotape the event.

However, the quality of these images was poor due to the fact that a cellphone was used in total darkness. Furthermore, no ground references were taken for comparison purposes. "We stopped seeing that light at daybreak, which was impossible to mistake for a star or other astronomical phenomenon," explained Gustavo, who added: "You had to see it to believe it."

Argentina: Tornadoes and Cattle Mutilations in Argentina

Argentina: Tornadoes and Cattle Mutilations in Argentina
By Silvia Pérez Simondini, Vision OVNI

[Paranormal research outside the U.S. tends to be physically harder due to the lack of easy access to rural areas. This November 2007 report from Silvia Perez Simondini bears witness to the hardships involved with confirming claims of a possible cattle mutilation]

A tornado occurred in the city of Rosario on October 25, 2007. It toppled the television towers belonging to Channels 3 and 5 and the CTI tower as well.
That same night, an incident took place in Victoria which stunned rural residents, who had never witnessed an incident similar to what happened on that occasion.

There is a small body of water called Las Coveras which emerges from the larger Laguna del Pescado. 15 dead cows were found in its waters, some 150 meters away from the shore. The animals had been pasturing in an adjacent field, so it was believed that the storm had lifted them into the air and then dropped their carcasses into the lagoon. The cattleman who informed us of this case, and who has asked to remain anonymous, could not bring himself to believe that this could have been the work of the high winds, as the herd of animals included a bull weighing in excess of 600 kilograms.

The cattleman’s son gave us some slightly confusing clues from which conjectures cannot be drawn, but which led us to look into the subject. He told us that the animal nearest the shore had a circular incision in its back. The rear of the herd had been pointing to the North, which led us to believe that if this event had been the result of the tornado activity, the animals would have been scattered everywhere at random. But since there is no evidence to support this claim, we delved deeper into our investigation.

We visited the area with Pablo Puchet, a member of our team, carrying with us the necessary elements with which to carry out research. Another friend, Javier Rojas, kindly lead us to the site, some 15 km distant from Victoria.

We then had to cross a cornfield, dodging and jumping over barbed wire, to be able to reach the cattleman’s location. We found him with his farmhands engaged in the task of castrating horses – a task I had never seen before and which frankly did not amuse me. We presented ourselves and the men began to tell us their stories

These accounts, told by each of the farmers, are quite possibly the most rewarding aspect of the research, [as they have witnessed odd phenomena] in the wilderness for years. In some cases, they have felt true terror. As time went by, the invited us to share a delicious roast with them. I asked them if it was possible to reach the site where the events took place, and the reply floored me: it was only possible to get there on horseback, and was many leagues distant from this location.

As we had already collected the interviews, we set off on the return journey, with the difference that now we didn’t have a guide to lead us back to the road, some 6 km distant, and to negotiate the barbed wire and the cornfields. This would have not been so onerous if it hadn’t started to rain, but the prevailing heat allowed us to shoulder the burden with dignity.

Upon returning to Victoria, I got in touch with someone who could take me to the site, but by river. That’s when I discovered that when the water level dropped, not even a boat can come close to the spot. The task has been less than fruitful, but it is imperative to find out the location of the carcasses, if only to verify the incisions and the position they were found in. We will have to brace ourselves and do what we must.

This, for the moment, is the report of the events. I hope to be able to see for myself the report given by the cattleman, who asked me again not to disclose his name. This is a request that we always respect from rural people to insure that they continue to place their trust in us, and inform us of any developments.

Argentina: Reflections on the Tres Arroyos Case

SOURCE: La Voz Del Pueblo
www.lavozdelpueblo.com.ar
DATE: 11.18.07

Re-reading the UFO chronicles of yore is an astonishing experience. It would seem that during the 1970s and to a lesser extent, the 1980s, UFO sightings were commonplace in Tres Arroyos and its surroundings.

Back then it seemed that our city and its environs were a “route and stopping point for flying saucers” (as described by La Voz del Pueblo in a 1973 article). The foremost exponent of Ufology in the country at the time, Prof. Pedro Romaniuk, also stated that the “UFO route passes over Tres Arroyos and Bahia Blanca, reaching all the way to Salta. This is possible thanks to isodynamic lines, which link areas having similar magnetic intensity.”

The most significant case, however, took place one evening in June 1973 and had several simultaneous witnesses. Two men saw a powerful glow followed by the descent of a UFO over an area field. The next day, it was ascertained that a scorched circle was left behind in the area where the object had descended. The same glow was seen by a family driving along in a pickup truck, and who claimed that their vehicle had been tailed closely by an unknown craft before disappearing. In the town of Oriente, almost simultaneously, several people saw an oval, multicolored object that flew at low altitude over the location.

On the night of July 3, 1984, an object was reported by several witnesses almost simultaneously in Oriente, Copetonas and Coronel Pringles: first as a cloud-shape that gave off bright flashes and subsequently as a sphere of light, finally with the unmistakable shape of a UFO.

In 1978 three hunters saw a UFO over Loma del Chapar while traveling in their truck. The object followed them closely until their truck’s motor died and the lights went out.

·A dozen similar cases were recorded in the town and rural surroundings of Tres Arroyos from 1971 to 1988.

·In 1971 a livestock farmer surnamed Calle had his vehicle’s engine and lights suddenly extinguished as he drove from Irene to Oriente. He got out of the car and saw a flying saucer and three enormous circles.

·In October 1972, a family heading from the capital to Tres Arroyos saw a sausage-shaped craft – brilliant and with greenish flashes -- some 15 km from our city. The glow was so intense that it illuminated both the surroundings and the vehicle’s interior.

·That same month, a small landowner witnessed a bright circular object from Cuartel VIII. The next day, his neighbor was faced with a perfect circular shape in the middle of his wheat field. It measured some five meters in diameter and was charred at its center. Plants inside the circle had been dried up and the soil was calcined.

·In October 1973, during early morning hours, a young rural laborer was heading back to town when he saw a square object over the Petrazzini aerodrome. It gave off blinding flashes of red light, descended until it touched the ground and headed toward a neighboring field before disappearing. The boy said he was left paralyzed, unable to make any movement whatsoever.

·In 1978, several witnessed allegedly saw an object with elongated windows that gave off a yellowish light fly over the city.

·In April 1980, with two days’ difference, several local residents claimed having seen UFOs having a similar appearance: circular and surrounded by an intense white light.

·In 1986, “spots” were found in a wheat field near Cascallares, flattened by a centrifugal force greater than three meters.

In 1988 a round, bright yellow-orange object was seen over the Lawn Tennis area for over a minute. Its lower section resembled that of a [child’s] toy top.

MEXICO: Photos of Luminous Object Over Hunucma, Yucatan

MEXICO: Photos of Luminous Object Over Hunucma, Yucatan
*** A report from Ana Luisa Cid ***

On October 25, El Diario de Yucatan reported the sighting of a luminous object over the Mexican town of Hunucmá, which was witnessed by officers of the municipal police.

As was reported at the time, some officers took video images with the cellphones, and while the police director considered that the object could have been a star or satellite, the case drew the attention of researchers from the OVNI MERIDA group who traveled to Hunucma and secured a copy of the video.

Researchers Emilio Cetz and Valentin Cervantes interviewed witnesses and produced a preliminary investigation:

"According to their report, they describe the object as "small ball" from which a potent beam of light emerged, apparently trying to search for something. This light rotated, that is to say, it could light from top to bottom, to the front, and in every direction in a matter of seconds. The light almost hit us in one of those sweeps, said the officers.

They also reported that luminous spheres have often been reported in the Yucatan highways, and they appear to follow the squad cars. They added that policement tend to point their flashlights skyward, and this perhaps attracts the unidentified objects.

With regard to the images, it is evident in some of them that the beam of light appears to be cut off at its end. Emilio Cetz has this to say: "The original video is low quality, but when I checked it in the policeman's cellphone, the frame was not visible. I noticed the square when i got home and changed fromats from 3gp to AVI. Valentin Cervantes, who accompanied me to get the video, is going to make some tests with his cellphone to ascertain if the frames are lens flares, as he owns the same model phone. We have not been able to carry out an investigation to our satisfaction, but we will do so in the future."

Emilio Cetz obtained a copy of the video directly from Police Chief Jose Luis Erosa, and he in turn gave me some unreleased photographs.

OVNI MERIDA researchers will return to the site and will provide more information on this compelling case.

MEXICO: Spherical Object Reported over Mexico City International Airport

Source: Ana Luisa Cid
Date: November 17, 2007

According to a report from Alfonso Salazar, a sighting took place over MCIA between 13:00 and 13:15 hours on Friday, November 16, 2007.

Airport personnel particularly those at the Aviacsa PGR hangar and others near Runway 6 witnessed a white flying object that remained static at 8000 meters toward the south of the Mexican capital.

The witnesses report that at aproximately 13:10 hours a Boeing 737-800 passed near the object as it flew from west to east at an altitude similar to that of the possible UFO.

Weather was good, with sunlight and blue skies. The object began to rise into the air toward 13:15 until it lost itself from sight. Researcher Salazar believes that it could not be a weather balloon, as these are launched at 5 am and 5 pm (during winter hours).

Argentina: UFOs Photographed in Tres Arroyos Near Site of Police Incident

Source: Guillermo Gimenez, Planeta UFO
Date: 11.13.07

The photos were taken by a young woman while she focussed on lights on the horizon. The next day, while playing the digicam's zoom, her father ascertained that they were vehicles similar to the Unidentified Flying Objects seen on the Internet.

A girl from Tres Arroyos photographed a group of UFOs while she spent a weekend fishing with her family at a a lagoon near Oriente. The sighting took place on Wednesday, October 17. However, her father detected the vehicles in the image the next day, while playing with the zoom on his daughter's camera.

Yesterday afternoon, Carlos Fabian Sapag approached La Voz del Pueblo with his wife Marta Daniela Arias and his daughter Carla, 12, to share the images and his experience with our readers.

"It took place on October 17 at the Norrild Lagoon, some 30 kilometers from Oriente heading toward Irene, where the police officers had their experience on Wednesday," Carlos recalled as he thought back to an episode that he is certain he will never again see in his life.

"We were fishing, stopped doing it, and started to boil water while the girl took photos of the horizon. She likes photography a lot and snaps the shutter at everything that moves," explained her dad, whose own experience took place the next day, when he reviewed the images taken by Carla. "The next day, toying with the camera's zoom, we saw there was an airplane in one of the photos. In the measure that I enlarged it, I saw a bunch of little things that were unknown to me. We checked on the Internet and were able to see that they were all lights of the same kind."

Their curiosity ended there. Several days went by without the photo being deleted from the camera's memory until a family friend suggested that they share the image with the press. "We decided to approach the press at a friend's recommendation. Besides, we didn't want this to end up in limbo," he remarked.

Displaying the detail of his images on a computer, Sapag discussed what he felt after the experience. "I don't know what I would do if I experienced something like [what happened] to these policemen. I can't imagine. I believe in life in other planets, since there's life here, there must be life elsewhere." He also stated that he had informed himself about the presence of UFOs in the region. "All of the UFOs seen around here appear in bodies of water like lagoons, such as the one at Sierras de los Padres in Mar del Plata. That's where they're usually seen."

Meanwhile, his daughter Carla, who took the images, acknowledged having done it by sheer chance and that when she did so, she did not pick up any noises or strange odors, unlike what was described by the police officers from the Oriente station. "I didn't see anything moving. I took [the photo] because I like the combination of colors, and I like photography," she said.

Before saying farewell, Carlos referred to the way that this experience will influence his life. "I didn't feel like fishing again. I felt fear and the sensation that something's watching one. Yesterday (Sunday) I was going to go, but changed my mind in the end."

The sighting reported by the Sapag Family to thes newspaper took place 4 weeks before the contact experience reported by the police officers from the Aparicio station. The difference with this latter case consists in the chance to see the occupants of the strange vessels."

An Interview with Guillermo Gimenez of Planeta UFO

Readers of Inexplicata are familiar with the reports on Argentinean UFO and paranormal cases provided by our contributing editor, Guillermo Gimenez, who co-directs the Planeta UFO weblist (with Christian Quintero. Mr. Gimenez took some time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions for us.

Hi Guillermo -- Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to answer some questions for INEXPLICATA. As a researcher, what is your opinion on the case involving the four police officers that had the CE-4 experience near the town of Irene?

Hello Scott – well, I can tell you that this is without a doubt a very interesting case, more so when its protagonists were four police officers from the Buenos Aires Provincial Police, holding the ranks of lieutenants and sub-lieutenants. Two of the witnessed not only a large object that came close to them, but also the descent and perception of four small humanoid figures, greenish-hued, large-headed and gray-eyed. You can also add to this the number of witnesses who claim having seen -- between 1 and 2 a.m., the indicated time of the encounter on Wednesday, November 7 – strange lights in the sky and a loud detonation whose source still remains unknown. There are also reports from other localities which I consider to be “hot spots”, such as Coronel Dorrego, Oriente, Tres Arroyos and Necochea, plus the visual testimony of a UFO photographed some days ago at a lagoon near the place where the events occurred. All of this can be added to the veracity of the events.

Can you describe the conditions one finds in rural Argentina? By this I mean the distances to be covered, the population density, the factors that make it ideal for UFO sightings?

The Republic of Argentina is a vast country. Traversing it covers thousands of miles from north to south and east to west. Our fields are fruitful in a number of areas and therefore, distances here are vast, making favorable for UFO events. For example, between my city, which is Necochea, and the neighboring city of Tres Arroyos, there’s a distance of 142 kilometers. There are some homesteads and small localities where strange objects are also reported, as well as encounters with their occupants.

This region is very rich in UFO case histories, and we’ve had all kinds of encounters with beings of various descriptions. Perhaps the first recorded CE-3 case in this region took place in Tres Arroyos around 1940 and its protagonists were also police officers from the Province of Buenos Aires. They witnessed a luminous, disk-shaped object and could see a number of humanoid figures “coming and going,” in the words of Sgt. Vicente and Patrolman Gitani. This sighting impressed them to the extent that they withdrew from the area. A startling case. Imagine what it must’ve been like, Scott, to undergo an experience like this one.

Does this case remind you of other cases involving police officers that ran into UFOs in your country’s rural areas?

Argentina has had many UFO cases involving police officers. I’m reminded of the events of the Julio Orozco case from May 1999 in the province of La Pampa, a region that has always offered rich and interesting case histories. Another would be the one that occurred in Salta, in the vicinity of the Tin Tin straight road, near the Cachi Pass at an elevation of 6100 meters, when a patrol car was escorted by a huge UFO along a beautiful region of our country. This was around May 2001. Another event would be July 2002 incident in the Province of Cordoba, when various law enforcement officers sighted a large object. As you can see, I can keep listing cases, but I think this offer a good sample.

Have you had the chance to investigate any similar cases in Necochea and its environs?

I had the chance to investigate several UFO cases involving police officers as well as regular citizens, highway chases and even encounters with occupants. All of this took place in Province of Buenos Aires, in cities such as Necochea, Miramar, Tres Arroyos, Coronel Dorrego, Oriente, etc., in other words, the same area as the main events. Case histories are abundant and have taken place at different times.

Which ufological mystery intrigues you most?

My interest in ufology came about in the summer of 1977 in my city, Necochea, when I was able to see the maneuvers of a large mothership that crossed the city at a very low altitude and in perfect silence. There were hundreds of witnesses. From that moment I felt the urge to research. I’ve had the opportunity to travel all over the world and find in various parts of the world (the Americas, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, etc.) many encounters that were similar to others that took place enormous distances away and in other times. Surprising cases involving different witnesses. There’s no doubt that cases involving the presence of occupants intrigue me the most. Here in Necochea I have looked into real encounter cases. Our area is rich not only in cases, but in the quantity and quality of the eyewitnesses involved.

Thanks for sharing your insights with us!

Argentina: Region Still Astonished by Police UFO Case

Argentina: Region Still Astonished by Police UFO Case

The eyewitness accounts of four law enforcement officers who claim having seen alien beings in the wilderness near Irene have given rise to comments among locals. Were there other witnesses to the mysterious episode?

Residents of Oriente and the region are exchanging bewildered views on the police testimony concerning the encounter with humanoid beings on Wednesday in the vicinity of Irene.

Local residents are making their own remarks and speculating, but the alleged episode, by virtue of having been witnesses by four police officers, sets aside any possibility of hallucination or incorrect perception. The color and shade of the light, indicated as white with greenish flashes, and the strong odor reminiscent of sulfur or gunpower, followed by a report comparable to a thunderclap, all agree with the description of the phenomenon.

“We were sleeping when we heard a noise that was similar to a tire blowout. It jolted us and caused the windows to rattle for a moment. When we looked out the window, we saw nothing unusual and we gave the matter no importance,” said a woman who was surprised by this noise on Wednesday morning. Her testimony is added to that of other locals who heard the rumble but paid it no attention due to the time at which it occurred, and who corroborated their own perception the next day after hearing stories of a UFO manifestation.

Added to these stories are ones from people who drove along rural roads while engaged in farming tasks and observed the white flash in the fields. All conjectures that can be put forth regarding the subject bring up a reality that goes beyond human reason and consequently, leaves behind an aura of mystery to some and of open incredulity to others.

The fact remains that a group of people shared an experience this week that they will not forget for the rest of their lives. This story shall certainly be added to the list of similar experiences transmitted orally by their protagonists, and theories ranging from mistrust to involvement by NASA itself, covering an array of alternatives. A visit by four aliens--standing 80 centimeters and with large gray eyes and greenish skin—shall form part of the local folklore.

ARGENTINA: Police Encounter UFO and 4 Aliens Near Irene

*** Agents of law enforcement were engaged in routine patrols of local roads. The sighting took place from a pickup truck. The figures observed were short in stature. Bracamonte and Orellano were paralyzed by the strange apparition. Rural residents and a couple driving along the road witnessed a phenomenon having similar characteristics.***

The apparition of a strange unidentified flying object, preceded by a enveloping white light, and the sighting of four strange beings in the vicinity of Irene, district of Coronel Dorrego, kept residents speculating as to their origin.

The event occurred last Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. when two police agents from the Oriente station reconnoitered the rural area in the vicinity of Irene, specifically near the property of Felipe Fernandez. That was when the inexplicable episode came about, startling Luis Bracamonte, first lieutant at Oriente, and Osvaldo Orellano, a sub-lieutenant from the same police station. The police officers were engaged in a routine patrol when at one and a half hours past midnight, Orellano got out of the police pickup truck to have a look, while Bracamonte remained aboard.

"At that time I was loading a telephone calling card into my cellphone, and for that reason I remained in the vehicle. While I stared at the phone in my hand, I saw a small light, like that of a pickup truck approaching, but when I saw that it was closing in quickly, the light became larger as though from a large gray pickup truck. I wasn't disturbed by the scene, but at a distance of 10 meters I saw a shape moving and my first thought was that it was a dog. Then I saw that it was a silhouette, like that of a little man, standing approximately 80 centimeters tall, with a large head, large prominent gray eyes and a greenish cast. I then tried to dial my fellow officer's cellphone, but when I pressed the 1 and the 5, my hand remained sort of static. I could see that three more creatures came out of that vehicle or craft, two similar to the first and a fourth with a slightly more robust appearance," said Bracamonte with complete certainty.

The policeman also said:"At that time, my partner was seeing the same thing I was seeing and shouted, "what's going on?!" In a flash, the four little men boarded that craft once more and it took off swiftly toward the north, scattering a white light that extinguished itself, leaving behind a green halo and a strong odor of sulfur or gunpowder, making a sound like a thunderclap."

Sub-lieutenant Santiago Walter of the Aparicio station added his testimony to the facts provided by Bracamonte. He had a similar one while on patrol a few kilometers away from Irene, in the company of police officer Walter Carabajal, between 1 and 2 a.m. "We were heading out of [the town] of Nicolas Descalzi toward Aparicio on a routine patrol when we saw a large white light that appeared to engulf us.At that time the pickup stopped dead and I tried to place a call on my cellphone, but there was no signal. My partner, Carabajal, asked me to look up. That's when we saw a powerful light that appeared to stop above our pickup truck and then vanished in a flash," he said in a telephone interview. Walter contacted first lieutenant Damian Sandoval, the officer-in-charge at Oriente, only minutes later, and who was on patrol in the La Turca area, far from his present position. Sandoval reported nothing unusual. When [Walter] checked in with Bracamonte, part of the events and details of their respective experiences coincided. Both men have found no explanation for the event.

Orellano, Bracamonte's partner, acknowledged that the situation was strange, but does not regret having been a witness to it in the least. "When I went back to the pickup truck, Bracamonte was silent, with his hand paralyzed for an unknown reason. For two hours he had some trouble with his eyes, something that made them weep, but nothing major came of it."

Several residents of Oriente confirm the police officers' testimony, claiming to have seen a strange glow that surrounded the towns of Irene and Aparicio at the time in question. A couple traveling from to Marisol from Oriente at the stated time saw a light toward Irene that engulfed them from the rear. It could not have been a lightning bolt, which made them feel even more curious. Farm workers also witnessed the glow, which they were unable to explain and has been a source of speculation among locals.

At least a dozen local residents heard a loud report that startled them around 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning, which jolted them awake. However, there was no apparent cause of origin. Today, listening to the reports of unidentified creatures, the situation dovetails with the reports given by the policemen.

In The Wake of AVB: More Sex and Saucers

In The Wake of AVB: More Sex and Saucers
By Scott Corrales

On March 3, 1978, in the small hours of the morning, eighteen-year-old Jose Inacio Alvaro, studying to be an electrician at a vo-tech in the Brazilian town of Pelotas, noticed a strange glow pouring in through one of the windows of his house. Alvaro, who had been up at that late hour studying, felt an unusual torpor seize him at the very moment that a thin blue beam appeared out of the light. The next thing he remembered was waking up on the street at a considerable distance from his home. Casting a frightened look at his wristwatch, Jose Inacio realized the time was now four o'clock in the morning: he had no recollection of what events had transpired in the intervening two hours.

Jose Inacio's case attracted the attention of Brazilian ufologists who urged him to undergo hypnosis. The sessions were conducted by a number of faculty members of the University of Pelotas and at one point even included the college's chancellor.
Under hypnosis, Jose Inacio recounted an experience that rivaled the classic Antonio Villas Boas case: at a given point, he found himself in an unfurnished, circular room and in the company of a naked, dark-haired woman that was much taller than he. At that point, the student realized that he, too, was unclothed. The woman approached him, placed a hand on his forehead, and told him not to be frightened since no harm would befall him. She immediately began caressing Jose Inacio, who at first had misgivings about the situation but eventually relented. They ended up having sexual intercourse on a structure that he described as "a net."

The details of his carnal experience were intensely graphic. The hypnotists' report states that the subject's words and movements clearly indicate he was reliving the experience under trance. For the sake of decorum, the researchers allegedly erased the recording of the session.

Unlike the AVB case, there were witnesses to Jose Inacio's return from his odyssey. One resident of Pelotas claimed having seen the student lying on the street at that time of the morning; upon approaching to offer assistance, the good samaritan alleged that Jose Inacio stood up like an automaton and began to walk away from the scene. Other local residents claimed to have witnessed the passing of a disk-shaped flying object in the air above Pelotas that caused disruptions to the power grid as it passed overhead.

The experiences of AVB and Jose Inacio Alvaro were not to be unique: theirs would soon have to share the spotlight with those of a third Brazilian man by the name of Juan Valerio.

On the evening of November 30, 1982, Juan Valerio da Silva went out of his house in the rural town of Botucatú to get some water and did not re-enter the structure. Three hours later, he was found unconscious in his backyard, naked and covered in what appeared to be oil.

Having no conscious recollection of what happened during the twelve-hour absence, hypnosis was again employed to ascertain his whereabouts during the "missing time" period. Valerio claimed that he was taken to a strange place by unseen captors, stripped of his clothing and placed beside a dark-skinned naked woman with long black hair who forced him to engage in sexual activity. A series of "strange tattoos" were etched upon his body.

While lacking the lurid descriptions that made his predecessors' experiences famous, the importance of Valerio's story lies in what we could term the postscript: the abductee developed a number of psychic abilities, most notably telekinetic powers. He has also had repeated visits from his non-human hosts, and was led to believe that his eldest son, Reginaldo, was also the product of genetic experimentation by these alien entities.

Strange Oils Indeed

Mirassol is a city of some thirty-two thousand inhabitants in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil which has earned its place in ufological history due to the events which allegedly took place there in 1979, regarding the experiences with non-human entities lived by Antonio Carlos Ferreira, who was 21 years old at the time and working as a watchman for a large furniture manufacturer in town.

At three o'clock in the morning on June 28th of that year, Ferreira witnessed a large shining light descend from the darkness on to the ground not far from where he stood watch. As he concentrated on the bright light, he then noticed that three diminutive entities were approaching: their heads were covered by opaque helmets and their bodies were encased in form fitting suits with what the young watchman took to be "breathing devices". Before Ferreira knew it, one of the beings fired a beam of red light that left him paralyzed. The was conveyed--in this state of immobility--toward the painfully bright light, which turned out to be a small disk-shaped craft that shuttled Ferreira and his captors to a larger vehicle in space.

Once aboard this craft, the frightened watchman was surprised to notice two different sorts of beings milling about: one having dark skin and curly red hair, and the other with lighter complexions and straight black hair; both non-human species had large slanted eyes, wide mouths with thick lips, well-defined chins and lacked eyebrows or eyelashes. His own abductors proved to be some sort of "mechanical men" who returned to their stations against a wall after delivering their captive.

Had nothing else occurred, Antonio Carlos Ferreira would have merely been a South American Travis Walton--a stranger in a strange place filled with non-human entities. But the most harrowing part of his unearthly experience was still to come. The humanoids transferred the watchman to a small room and told to lie down on a couch after giving him multiple assurances by telepathic means that he would be returned home unharmed.

Feeling more at ease, Ferreira complied until another being appeared in the room: it was a naked female of the darker skinned alien species. Under the hypnotic regression preformed by the late researcher Walter K. Buhler, Guillermo Pereira and Ney Matiel, Ferreira described his would-be sex partner as downright repulsive, having an unpleasant breath, an overly large chin, small breasts and icy cold skin. The detail of red pubic hair, which had first emerged in the Villas Boas case, resurfaced in Ferreira's experience.

A struggle with the aliens--also reminiscent of the AVB case--would take place as three of the creatures tore his clothes off to prepare him for the act. Ferreira was outraged and told the female not to come closer since "her ugliness was repulsive". A slightly taller alien gave Ferreira an injection that caused him to lose strength and brought his combativeness to an end. They then covered him in a dark, amber-colored oil and placed the repulsive-looking female on top of him. The sexual act was rapidly consummated and the aliens fussed over him again, bathing him in the strange oil once more. His captors informed him they came from "another planet" and that their mission was to secure human offspring for future research; he was told that he would be contacted once more in order that he could meet his hybrid offspring.

At one point, Ferreira complained of an inability to breathe and his abductors gave him an unpleasant-tasting liquid that appeared to remedy the situation. Similar "cordials" (for want of a better word) also been described in other Brazilian cases, such as the one involving the soldier "Jose Antonio", who was abducted by strange dwarves while fishing on a riverbank.

Ferreira apparently underwent other abduction events of which he had no conscious recollection whatsoever--the second in January 1983 and the third in April of that same year.

Young Julio Makes a Friend

This case takes us from subequatorial Brazil to the Caribbean, where in 1934, a teenager identified only as "Julio" became the protagonist of an episode that would scar him for life. It was first investigated by Puerto Rican ufologist Sebastián Robiou (mid-70s), then re-investigated by Salvador Freixedo (late '80s). The witness has since been interviewed once more by Magdalena del Amo-Freixedo (1997).

One morning, while flying a brand new kite on a slope outside the city of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, before going off to school, young Julio was startled to see his kite being sucked in by what appeared to be an air-pocket or vacuum of some kind. He pulled on the string and noticed an inordinate amount of resistance from the wayward kite. Upon looking up, he was amazed to see a ball "like a ball bearing", but measuring some twenty feet across and having the same coppery hue of a BB. A light issued from the object and he felt himself being raised into the air. Before he knew it, he was inside the strange flying object.

"On one side, I saw a girl," Julio indicated during the interview conducted by Robiou. "and on the other was a guy looking at a some sort of giant emerald. He wore a tight-fitting olive-drab suit that looked like plastic. I couldn't see his face, because he was minding the device. He gestured at the girl...the girl had a pinkish complexion and wore a silvery suit. She was small, like one of our six year-old girls, with platinum blonde hair. I don't remember the color of her eyes."

Julio explained that the child was holding his kite in her hands, and that he made all possible efforts to tell her that it belonged to him. The girl did not surrender the kite. Instead, she gave him a small box, from which images could be made to appear. He did not remember how, but the object returned him to the place from which he had been collected, and returned him abruptly to the ground. He suffered a sprained ankle as a result of the experience--but he had the curious little box with him.

Further details would emerge during Freixedo's re-opening of the case. "Julio", now a hardened man in his early sixties, informed the Spanish ufologist of the ultimate fate of the little box he'd been entrusted with.

The box measured some 20 x 20 x 20 centimeters, and when its "user" placed his or her hands upon it, a "kind of vapor made up of lights" would spin on its surface, causing an entity--as small ape-like creature no more than 1 meter tall --to appear in the room. According to Julio, the entities materialized in such a manner would not speak and appeared to be surprised to find themselves in an alien environment. The girl-child on the strange object had successfully caused the "little apes" to return to their native surroundings or "back into the box", as Julio put it. Only the hapless boy was not so good at this final aspect: the diminutive simians would materialize and vanish at breathtaking speed out the window, many times in the presence of his classmates who had asked him to perform the "neat trick" with the box. The apported entities were not at all pleased, claimed Julio, with their new condition. They would frighten children and dogs, and appeared to prowl the surroundings of Julio's family's house. "Believe me," he told the researcher. "I would just like to die. I'm tired of seeing strange things." The supernatural primates had apparently been the source of a number of mysterious deaths that had occurred in his corner of southwestern Puerto Rico over the decades.

When Magdalena del Amo-Freixedo re-opened the case as part of her book Abducciones (Bell Book, 1998), a further wrinkle appeared which has a direct bearing to this article.

Now willing to go on the record by his real name --Juan Rivera Feliberti--
he explained to Del Amo-Freixedo that his contact with the alien "girl" had not stopped after the incident of the wayward kite. Many years later, now a married man with children, the experiencer moved from Mayaguez to Sabana Grande, P.R. and took his family to the beach one day. While the children frolicked in the water, "Julio" decided to go fishing. He suddenly realized he was not alone: a beautiful woman had appeared right in front of him. A wave of remembrances washed over him as he realized her blonde hair was identical to that of the girl in the odd circular vehicle so many years ago. He asked her where she came from, and she allegedly replied "from far away, from the stars...”

Male figures soon appeared, clad identically to the one he remembered seeing back in 1934. "They were the lady's companions...they were identical to the one I'd seen as a boy. Suddenly, I don't know what she did, but she was completely naked. She didn't tell me anything, but I understood in my mind that she wanted to have relations with me. I didn't want to...I wanted to run away. Besides, my wife could catch me if she happened to come around." Although hesitant to describe his unusual experience to a female investigator, Del Amo-Freixedo eventually convinced him to elaborate. Uncomfortably, "Julio", now in his seventies, continued the story: "Look, I didn't want to at first, but you know how it is. I was young and the woman was very good-looking. She began caressing me all over, and we ended up like men and women do when they're both unclothed."

"Julio" bashfully added that his alien lover's body was not exactly like that of a human female: her breasts appeared to be placed lower on the torso and her pubic area was hairless. He made the curious observation that her skin, while soft, was somewhat scaly. These anatomical differences did not deter him, however: "We [had sex] several times. I think four. Back then one was full of energy and recovered quicker." In subsequent years, he would return to the scene of the events in hope of seeing his unusual sex partner again, but never did.

As if to bring the events in the long, strange life of Juan Rivera Feliberti to a full circle, at around three o'clock a.m. one day in 1995, he saw the same girl who's stolen his kite once more, standing outside his house.

Regardless of whatever stance we may have regarding the UFO phenomenon, and provided that we are willing to suspend disbelief, the information which can be glean from these cases is of considerable interest: absent from the scene are the Grays, Reptoids and Nordics that seem to populate the abductee chronicles, we have beings of an entirely different taxonomy engaged in an operation or mission that appears to be taking place largely within the confines of Brazil, the South American giant. The commonalities of the experiences--the oily liquid applied on the abductees, which serves as antiseptic and aphrodisiac at once; the beverage that relieves human discomfort; the choice of intercourse rather than artificial insemination--link them together while separating them from the coldly clinical abduction phenomenon in the northern hemisphere.

The fact that this libidinous aspect of the UFO phenomenon appears to have a strong preference for Brazil has led to jocose comments on the appeal of Brazilian virility to non-human intelligences. The fact remains that somewhat similar situations have occurred elsewhere in the world and in our own country as well.

In October 1974, oil worker Carl Higdon took a day off from work and went hunting near Rawlins, Wyoming. Coming across an elk (an astonishing piece of luck in itself on the first day of hunting), Higdon pulled the trigger on his rifle only to see the bullet issue from the weapon in slow motion and land fifty feet away from him. To his astonishment, the hunter realized that time was standing still all around him and that a chinless, jawless alien being was looking at him. Higdon was apparently abducted and hooked up to strange devices aboard "a cube-shaped UFO". The hunter attributed the reason for his return to Earth by his captors was that he had had a vasectomy performed a few years before the abduction and was therefore useless for the "breeding program" that his captors appeared to be pursuing.

Conclusion

It is an unquestionable fact that sex has played a pivotal role in a number of UFO cases and has become the mainstay of the abduction phenomenon, whose literature centers around the non-consensual aspect of these goings-on. But these are merely the latest facet of a phenomenon that goes back to the very start of human history and myth. Who can forget the Greek gods and the numerous guises they assumed to seduce humans? But the Mediterranean cultures were hardly alone in their beliefs. Hindu deities were equally proficient at seduction: the Bhaghavata Purana tells us of the exploits of the divine Krishna with mortal milkmaids. Hardly a culture in the Americas lacks a story concerning a sky maiden who fell to earth, married a mortal, and then returned to her people after having had offspring.

The notion of sexual congress has also played heavily in science fiction and other speculative writing as far back as Edgar Rice Burroughs's John Carter of Mars stories, where the human hero fights all manner of alien beings on the Red Planet and wins the affections of the alien princess Deja Thoris (Burroughs's Martians were oviparous, so in the course of time, we can imagine that Carter's alien lover laid an egg).

Antonio Villas Boas: Total Abduction

ANTONIO VILLAS BOAS: TOTAL ABDUCTION
By Pablo Villarrubia Mauso

[Pablo Villarubia is one of ufology's most indefatigable researchers, traveling to far-flung locations as he reinvestigates some of the classic mysteries of our time. His books include Brasil Insolito (1999) and Viaje Mágico por los Misterios de America (2003). Inexplicata readers will remember his re-examination of Brazil's Aracariguama case. It is with great pleasure that we present his latest investigative effort --Ed.]

Fifty years later we are reopening the investigation into the first UFO abduction case in modern history: the legendary Antonio Villas Boas incident that took place in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Hitherto unpublished photographs and interviews shed startling revelations: U.S. agents kidnapped Villas Boas and a “portal” to strange phenomena appears to exist at the site of the abduction.

A veritable nightmare commenced on October 5, 1957 for a Brazilian farmer named Antonio Villas Boas, only 23 years old at the time. It only came to an end with his death in 1991 at age 52. One of the most important and discussed cases in world ufology took place within the isolated rural area of Sao Francisco de Salles, located deep inside the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. It is considered the first abduction or kidnapping of a human being by alleged alien entities.

On that distant date, Antonio and his brother Joao looked out of their bedroom window to see a circular light that cast its luminescence onto the ground, coming closer and then vanishing. On the 14th of that month, between 21:30 and 22:00 hours, while Antonio and another brother – Jose – tilled the soil with the family tractor, they were pursued by a round unidentified flying object that fired rays in every direction.

At 1:00 a.m. on October 16, Antonio Villas Boas worked alone on his tractor. A red light descended from the sky and turned into an oval-shaped, metallic object. The farmer was petrified. The object did not take long to land, setting its three legs squarely on the soil and lowering a seemingly metallic ladder.

The terrified young man tried to flee in vain – his tractor’s engine died and four robust beings of normal height (one of them shorter than Antonio) emerged from the object and seized him, hoisting him into the air by his arms and legs, and took him into their spacecraft, where his clothing was forcibly removed. They subsequently bathed his body with a sponge soaked in a colorless liquid. Conveyed from one chamber to another, the entities – human-looking, but with their heads covered by strange helmets – drew blood with suction cups attached to equidistant spots on his chin, causing some irritation.

Alone in the chamber, Antonio perceived how some tubes jutting from the wall emitted a grayish gas that made him feel nauseous and on the verge of vomiting. Later on, the frightened farmer would receive another unexpected visit: this time from a nude, white-skinned female with slanted blue eyes, high cheekbones, thin lips, straight blond hair, broad hips and heavy thighs.

And this was precisely the least likely part of the abduction experience: Antonio claimed to have entered a state of progressive, uncontrollable sexual excitement that he attributed to the liquid that had been rubbed onto his flesh. He made love twice to the unknown female.

Upon leaving, the young woman pointed at her abdomen and then toward the sky.

Antonio was subsequently ditched from the craft by the helmeted beings, but he first tried to secure some proof of his incredible experience: a box-shaped device with a glass lid, but the creatures kept him from doing so. The object took off vertically, issuing a whistling sound and increasing its brightness. Villas Boas spent approximately 4 hours and 15 aboard the craft.

In 1961, after the Brazilian farmer’s experience, an American couple – Betty and Barney Hill – underwent an abduction experience supposedly involving aliens. The Villas Boas case, however, kicked off a discussion that has not lost its currency: the likelihood of genetic experiments performed by extraterrestrials upon human beings.

The story of Antonio Villas Boas (who remained anonymous until 1967) was made known to the world by journalist Joao Martins in the international edition (Spanish) of the prestigious Brazilian publication “O Cruzeiro”, which appeared in Buenos Aires eight years after the events, on December 1, 1964. Also involved in the investigation of this case was Dr. Olavo Fontes, a major name in Brazilian ufology, who subjected Villas Boas to a battery of physical and psychological tests after the event (February 22, 1958). The witness showed no signs of mental instability and had a series of physical alterations caused during the alleged alien encounter.

The Early Revelations

What seemed absurd to many – that is to say, the abduction by aliens and sexual relations with aliens – would later be transformed into a pattern of conduct experienced by nationals of various countries.

In the year 2000, this author renewed the investigation into this case after having located one of Antonio Villas Boas’s sons. I must admit that I was rather incredulous at some of the facts of the case, and it was necessary to secure more information. His extraordinary statements – which I was not allowed to disclose – stirred my curiosity further until years later, Claudio Tshuhioshi Suenaga, the distinguished Japanese-Brazilian historian and ufologist, put me on trail once more. He had interviewed Odercia Villas Boas, Antonio’s sister, over the phone. His revelations had been startling. I immediately took off for Brazil and from Sao Paulo, Claudio and I engaged in a marathon relay of several buses until we reached Sao Francisco de Salles (pop. 3,000), the scene of the astonishing events.

It was there that we found sexagenarian farmer Joao Francisco de Queiroz, Villas Boas’s nephew, whom Claudio had also contacted over the phone. Joao informed us that on the night of the Abduction, he – Joao Francisco – was sleeping inside a tractor cab a few hundred meters away from the site of the incident. “I was only 16 years old and was deep asleep. I heard nothing. It was only the next day that I learned of the incident. He told us, his relatives, that he had been taken aboard a device that landed some 50 meters away from the Grande River and that he had had sexual relations with a short, ugly woman.”

“Ugly?” Claudio and I repeated, exchanging glances, “but the published reports said that she was a beautiful woman, despite her strange appearance...”

“No, Antonio always said that she was very ugly, and that he did not know how he felt excited to the point of wanting to make love to her. After the event, Antonio went off to Rio de Janeiro, where a reporter and a doctor investigated his case. They took him off to the United States, forcibly, as though he had been detained, but he wasn’t mistreated. He told me that he didn’t like that trip at all, because he had gone against his will.”

“Did he give you any details about that trip?” I inquired, knowing that that information would confirm the involvement of the United States in UFO research and the controversial possession of extraterrestrial craft.

“Very little. Only that he had seen a device similar to the one that appeared here, but it wasn’t the same. Antonio was a reserved person who rarely discussed the subject. What I do know is that one day he locked himself up in the house and didn’t come out until he had finished carving the flying saucer from his experience on a piece of wood. He covered it in tin foil, the kind that used to come in cigarette cartons. Then he sent it off to Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. I saw it, it was very pretty.”

“What was Sao Francisco de Salles like back then?” I asked, hoping to put the events into a context.

“It was a small, practically isolated place. I know that in 1947 there were only ten houses. But the Villas-Boas family and I lived at Hacienda Aldeia o Mata, some five kilometers from here, on the banks of the Grande. If you’d like, we can go up there in my car.”

Claudio and I didn’t think twice: we boarded the vehicle, excited at the prospect of being on-site at one of world ufology’s mythical locations. We stopped under an enormous, hundred year old fig tree and Joao Queiroz pointed to the spot where the flying saucer emerged in 1957. “It was more or less over there, where the Grande River now covers part of the hacienda. A dam was built in 1977, the Agua Vermelha, which invaded the property. The house we lived in doesn’t exist anymore. They knocked it down, it was a little further up.”

The loneliness of that location, the green fields, the leaves of some scattered trees, gave us a sense of trepidation. There was something strange about that place. It was perhaps that sensation or intuition that made me ask Joao: “Aside from what Antonio saw, did strange things take place here?”

“During the night, right there at Hacienda Aldeia o Mata, we would all listen in terror to the sound of a hand beating the handle of a large corn-grinding mortar inside a shack. When we went to check, there was no one around and the handle remained tied, suspended, and the mortar’s opening was covered by a large clay urn.” And there was more. Joao Queiroz also said that they could hear the sound of a galloping horse that couldn’t be seen, while the farm hands told stories of a “black-hooded phantom horseman.”

Another important detail is that Hacienda Lade o Mata’s very name bespoke the existence of an indigenous settlement. Queiroz himself, in his childhood, had found many pieces of ceramic, bones (perhaps from animals) and the circular indentations of where aboriginal shacks had once stood. Researchers had never mentioned this information. We subsequently learned that the region upon which the Villas Boas hacienda had once stood was occupied, until the 19th century, by the Kayapó indians. They were decimated by the diseases, persecutions and slayings visited upon them by the white man.

We returned to Queiroz’s house. His wife, Maria Olimpia, told us that her husband’s parents had committed suicide in 1947, and that the local peasants attributed the tragedy to the fact that the area was bewitched. It was as if everything had occurred as an act of vengeance carried out by the souls of the departed indians. Olimpia also stated that she had seen the two scars or wounds that Antonio Villas Boas had on his chin, which he attributed to the placement of suction cups that drew his blood aboard the craft.

Abducted by Humans

The next day, after a night of restless sleep in Doña Manuela’s decaying boarding house – we had the fortune of finding Odercia Villas Boas, Antonio’s closest sister. 70 years old, with an impressive memory and recovering from cancer, Odercia welcomed us with great courtesy to her humble residence. Her most valuable asset is an old TV set that barely picks up the broadcasts. We were the first researchers to interview here on the Villas Boas case, by her own admission.

“Our father owned a lot of land. My brother tilled the soil with the tractor and became a cattleman, transporting cattle to distant cities,” she recalled longingly. “I was the first person who tended to him after he had been inside that device.”

Here we were faced with a privileged witness, since it hadn’t occurred to anyone to interview her and her contributions would be extremely important in adding greater depth to the Antonio Villas Boas case.

“He arrived at five o’clock in the morning. He was very pale and trembling. I saw that he had two bruise marks on his chin. I gave him some very strong coffee to drink, but then he vomited a yellowish substance. He didn’t want to eat the hen I’d cooked for him. Then he told me what had happened. That the tractor had stopped, that he’d been dragged into that thing and that he slept with a very ugly woman. He slept poorly at nights, had nightmares.”

“You looked after him, then.” I said.

“Yes, along with his brother Jose and Damiao, the tractor operator. He stayed in bed several days. Everything he ate made him feel sick. He had headaches and complained about being very sleepy. Two weeks later small, itchy marks emerged on his arms and legs. When they dried, they showed a purplish cast around them.”

“It seems that he later went to Rio de Janeiro,” I volunteered.

“Yes, a pharmacist advised him to write a letter to Joao Martins, who was a reporter for “O Cruzeiro”, since this man wrote about flying saucers at the time. My brother wanted to talk to him to find out what had happened to him. Then, four months later, they paid him to take the bus to Rio de Janeiro, where a doctor examined him. He returned and later on, five men dressed in green uniforms took him to the United States. Some spoke Portuguese; others English. I think they were from NASA. They kept visiting several times over eight or ten years. They would always give my brother books written in English as gifts.”

“Why did they take him to the United States?” I asked anxiously.

“He was subjected to questioning and the lie detector in California. He was taken to an open area where the remains of a flying saucer could be found. They then showed him another, in good condition, inside an enclosed area like a museum, asking him if it was identical to the one he had seen. He told me that it was very similar. He was always accompanied by a journalist who had a foreign name and acted as an interpreter, and was always surrounded by uniformed American personnel.”

Who could have been the journalist who spoke both Portuguese and English? I admit that we were startled, as this confirmed the cooperation between the Brazilian authorities of that time and the U.S. government with regard to the UFO research, even compelling Brazilian citizens to travel against their will, violating their rights.

“He was in the United States for three days,” Odercia told us. “They later gave him two properties near San Francisco and San Rafael. I managed to see the deeds. They sent him back to Rio, where he spent between fifteen and twenty days in a hospital, undergoing new examinations and tests. This affected him greatly, it seems. According to the medical report, Antonio was in excellent mental health and not crazy.”

“Did the Americans tell him if extraterrestrial life exists?”

“Yes, they confirmed this to him. I now recall, also, that Antonio was afraid that this abductors would come back to take him to another planet. It seems that the flying object returned, in fact, eight days after the kidnapping.”

Odercia Villas Boas also confirmed the existence of supernatural phenomena (poltergeists?) at Hacienda Aldeia o Mata, such as the movements of the mortar handle. She added that in the house where the women did the cooking, balls of mud filled with fur or long hair would fly around and land inside the ovens. No one knew where they came from or who threw them, as they emerged from nowhere.

“Was there talk about flying saucers in the area before Antonio’s experience?” I inquired of the lucid old lady.

“What I and many others saw, since I was a child, were lights that moved over a hill not too far from here. Many of them descended like stars in the evenings. I remember having seen them on several occasions since 1941. Once I saw a huge object, perhaps made of metal, silvery, that made a lot of noise. In 1964 or 1966 my daughters were playing in the schoolyard when they had to vacate it as quickly as possible: a flying saucer had landed there. The teachers saw it and were terrified. They all fled.”

“Did you notice any change in behavior in your brother after the abduction?”

“Yes, before the encounter with the saucer he was a happy person. Then he withdrew and seemed very sad. He didn’t want to talk about the event. But he was always a very kind person, donating food for the poor. He was always very religious. During Easter Week he would carry the saint on his back while barefoot. He never drank. He was studious and was already taking correspondence courses in 1957. Later on he went to live in various cities in Minas Gerais and Goiás. Thanks to his personal motivation and the encouragement of a nun, he graduated with a law degree in Brasilia.

“Did Antonio ever give any interviews? “ I asked.

“He didn’t like the subject to be made public. He was always very discreet and didn’t want to discuss his experiences. But one day received an offer from a famous television personality, Flavio Cavalcanti, and he accepted. But NASA kept him from appearing,” Odercia revealed.

Our reinvestigation of the Villas Boas case rekindles, with more proof, criticism about U.S. intervention in the UFO subject and the possibility that this country is in possession of remains or whole craft of possible extraterrestrial origin, under strict custody and secrecy.

A key figure in this plot was Dr. Olavo Fontes. Intelligent, methodical, fluent in English and with friends in the Brazilian military’s upper echelon, he was accused by some ufologists of collaborating with intelligence agencies within his own country and the United States. His constant travels to that country as a representative of the defunct APRO organization, spearheaded by Jim and Coral Lorenzen, caused even greater mistrust.

All appears to suggest that Fontes was closely tied to U.S. authorities and privy to a number of ufological secrets. He died young, in 1968, from a quick-spreading cancer. Some believe that Fontes was the victim of a conspiracy that also cut short the lives of other ufologists who “knew too much.”

Did U.S. authorities try to purchase Antonio’s silence by giving him properties in California? Why was he not allowed to speak publicly? It is very possible that the former farm boy and later trial judge took one of the greatest mysteries of all time to grave.

A Slither of Reptoids

A Slither of Reptoids
By Scott Corrales

The concept of sentient reptilian creatures has been around for a very long time. Anyone who doubts this should consult the Book of Genesis to learn about a certain serpent endowed with very good powers of persuasion.
Humans feel both attracted and repulsed by reptiles: ancient tribes venerated them as totemic animals, the emblem of wisdom and hidden knowledge; The Greeks coiled snakes around the Caduceus, the sign of medicine; in Middle Eastern tradition, the hero Gilgamesh returned from his adventures with a flower of eternal life, only to lose it to a snake, guaranteeing serpentkind the gift of immortality.
The early authors of pulp fiction pitted their heroes against entire races of intelligent reptiles, usually lizard-men deep in an African or South American jungle, or else occupying vast underground domains. Some authors, like Robert E. Howard, creator of such memorable barbarian warriors as Conan and Kull, wove reptilians into the tapestry of his sword-and-sorcery account, usually as the species that preceded humans as the masters of this planet. Michael Moorcock's early hero Sojan fought against muscular lizard-men, and in science fiction, reptilians ranged from the Lizard Men of the Flash Gordon serials to Alan Dean Foster's warlike AaNN in his "Flinx of the Commonwealth" series, and what memory could be more indelible than that of the hideous reptilian aliens disguised as humans in the V television program of the mid-1980's?
But the world of the imagination and mythology do not have an exclusive claim on the belief that advanced non-human civilization of a reptilian nature once roamed the Earth before the first primate descended from the trees. The argument for lizard people living underground to "reptoids" emerging from spacecraft continues to this very day...

An Ancient Evil

Intelligent reptilian entities make their first appearance in the Testament of Amram (4QAmram), one of the texts which form part of the collective known as the Dead Sea scrolls, set in the context of the Book of Exodus but containing the admonitions of Amram, son of Kehat, to his children. Discussing a vision or dream in which he has just seen two of the Biblical "Watchers" engaged in a dispute over him, Amram raises his eyes "and saw one of them. His looks were frightening [like those of a viper] and his garments were multicolored and he was extremely dark...and afterwards I looked and behold, by his appearance and his face was like that of an adder, and he was covered with...together...and his eyes..."
Unfortunately, the gaps in the text keep Amram from describing the ominous watcher more fully, but the intent of his words is clear. (See "Angels and Aliens, Fate Magazine, December 2000). It is possible that this passage echoes even older Mesopotamian chronicles, which suggest that humanity's forebears were non-human.
Controversial researchers like Tal LeVesque suggested historical backdrops spanning twelve millenia into the Earth's past, when a battle shattered our world's surface as the Reptoids and the Elder Race (allusions to Richard Shaver's own extensive mythos) slugged it out for ultimate dominion. The fight ended in a draw as some Reptoids headed to deep space while others burrowed deep underground, become a source of worship for the human tribes left on the scarred surface. "The Reptoids are fellow members of humanity," LeVesque notes. "We are the hu-man and they are reptilian man. They became self-conscious first, before we appeared on the scene. They taught us."
British researcher Lord Clancarty (Brinsley Le Poer Trench) produced some remarkable thoughts along these lines in regard to sentient reptilians in his book The Sky People (1960). Much like Tal LeVesque, Lord Clancarty suggested that humankind was the product of a series of breeding experiments allegedly substantiated by his readings of numerous ancient texts. Behind this sweeping process would have been the highly intelligent "serpent people" who created humans as biological robots (a notion to be developed in later decades by Zechariah Sitchin) to carry out a variety of tasks. The "serpent people"'s experiment failed, theorizes the author, when the biological robots managed to reproduce. These concepts would be developed in later decades by Zechariah Sitchin's own work. But John Keel, in commenting on Lord Clancarty's work in his Our Haunted Planet (Fawcett, 1971) adds a further wrinkle: that the newly emancipated humans now faced the wrath of the "serpent people" and their survival would probably have not been possible without the intercession of a "superintelligence" that would later be worshipped as God."God worked out new means of communication and control," writes Keel, always in conflict with the serpent people." (p.139).
While these references hardly constitute proof by any standard, we are faced with even more tenuous--but nonetheless intriguing--suggestions regarding the existence of reptilian protohumans. In 1983, Science Digest featured an article by palaeontologist Dal Russell regarding a purely hypothetical creature representing the probable evolutionary path that reptilian life in the Cretaceous age would have followed toward intelligence. His model of a two-legged, two-armed sentient saurian, was developed after Stenoychosaurus Inequalus, a ten-foot tall dinosaur having a brain-body mass ratio simlar to that of early mammals. Russell's reptile humanoid caused a sensation among ufologists, who were quick to draw parallels between it and the Grey aliens. A model of the remarkable "dinosauroid" is on display in Ottawa's National Museum of Natural Sciences and has been featured in documentaries and magazines worldwide.

Neighbors Under Our Feet

The legends of the Hopi tribe concerning the nameless lizard people declares that around 4000 B.C. (a curiously precise date) a natural disaster destroyed the reptilian people's city, prompting them to go underground, where they built a network of well over a dozen cities safe against any cataclysms. Much like Turkey's underground Derinkuyu, the cities possessed dwelling units, armories, refectories and vast storerooms not only for food, but for the golden "tablets of knowledge" that chronicled the history of their people allegedly back to the world's creation.
California's Mount Shasta occupies a special place in Hopi lore precisely due to its reptilian connection One of the more notable cities was rumored to be under Mount Shasta -- a curious detail, since in 1972, a hiker claimed to have seen a half-human, half-reptile creature making its way along the slopes wearing human garb. Some have noted that this highly memorable detail suggests the reptilians--if they exist at all--may steal garments off clotheslines (a humorous notion at first, although this has been suggested as a possibility in cases involving "little people" wearing incongrous, ill-fitting human togs) or are somehow able to come into towns and villages "masquerading" as humans through some kind of mental projection, relaxing this ability as they return home to their lairs. More on this intriguing possibility later.
Possible substantiation for the Hopi myth came about in 1934, when engineer Warren Shufelt told a reporter from the Los Angeles Times that beneath the City of Angels lay one of the great cities reptilian cities built in ages past. Having allegedly spoken to a Hopi chief for background information, Shufelt drilled a four hundred foot test hole under Fort Moore Hill, with the blessing of the city authorities, to reach what he termed "a treasure vault". Unfortunately no treasure was ever found and Shufelt disappeared. This is not to say that the alleged "tunnels" did not exist: apparently, some of them can be found to this very day under the UCLA campus, and one of them is supposed to have played a critical role in the smuggling of Chinese immigrants in the 19th century.

The Reptilian Abode

Belief in presence of intelligent reptilian creatures reasserted itself in the late 80's and throughtout the 1990's in ufology and its related fields, creating firestorms of controversy and lengthy (and speculative) taxonomies of the "Reptoids" as they were now called and their place within the UFO alien pecking order. The first mention of "Reptoids" in this new context involved them in the operations allegedly occuring at a subterranean base in Dulce, New Mexico, in apparent collusion with the so-called Grey aliens. One of the more sensational claims involving the Reptoids had to do with a gunfight that allegedly took place in the depths of this facility between Delta Force elements and laser-toting snakemen. According to writer Alex Christopher, the elite forces managed to kill a number of them despite sustaining casualties of their own. "If you have the drop on them, they die just like everybody else. They consist of mass just like we do." (interview on KSEO radio, 4/26/96).
In his book "E.T. Friends and Foes", author George Andrews conveys a conversation between two unidentified sources regarding the nature of the Reptoids. One of the speakers unequivocally declares that the reptilian creatures want to make use of Earth as a "staging ground" in an operation that has been going on for thousands of years and which continues apace. Andrews has issued unequivocal warnings about the reptilian entities. "The first thing to do is to alert the people to the danger represented by the predatory reptilian ET's as a preliminary to ridding the planet of them." he writes in an issue of the Beyond Boundaries newsletter (July/August 1997).
The Mexican town of Tepoztlán, roughly an hour's drive from the urban sprawl of Mexico City, is probably better known than any other place in that country for its UFO visitations, which have been captured on video and still photographs by hundreds of witnesses and conveyed around the world through documentaries and live broadcasts. The town, which has become a "new age" mecca over the course of the last century due to its ancient ruins and reputation as a focal point for benign earth energies, also boasts stories of alien contact which are somewhat less known.
One of these is chronicled in Luis Ramírez Reyes's Contacto: México (Diana, 1995) concering the experiences of Concepción Navarrete, a poor woman who operated a food stand at the base of the majestic rock formation known as El Tepozteco, a favorite UFO haunt. One day, according to Mrs. Navarrete, she was startled by the presence of a very odd creature standing near a cross-like structure marking the site where the coronations of ancient Chichimec monarchs took place. "I was deeply shocked," said the witness, "because he was facing away from me and he looked like a giant lizard, upright, standing some two meters tall. His skin was green and covered in scales." She added that the lizard being's back had a leaden grey cast to it, and the whole creature seemed to have emerged from the mud.
What occured next was probably even more incredible. The reptilian entity made a sudden about-face, as if realizing that it was being spied upon. But at that very moment, its reptilian image was replaced by that of a "blond, cordial American tourist" who inquired-- telepathically and in a somewhat mocking tone--if she had been startled by his presence. Feeling her senses overwhelmed by the entity, Navarrete cried out for help as another tourist approached. The lizard man subsequently vanished as if he had never been there. The approaching tourist calmly told Navarrete, to her astonishment, that he was aware of the lizard beings and their penchant for adopting human guise to wander among us.
A story similar to Concepción Navarrete's appears in researcher Linda Moulton Howe's Glimpses of Other Realities II (Paper Chase,1998): abductee Jim Sparks was allegedly teleported to a nocturnal rendezvous with at least a dozen large, powerfully built reptilian creatures whose true appearance was concealed by superimposed, holographic human faces. When Sparks asked to see his interlocutor's real visage, he was cautioned that to do so could be a frightening experience for him, but his wish was granted. Sparks describes the entities' faces as resembling "a cross between a lizard and a snake."
Although his output has been the subject of heated debate, mention must be made of the comments issued by British author David Icke on the matter of reptilians. Icke claims to have traveled extensively around the United States in 1998 interviewing people who witnessed reptoid-to-human conversions and viceversa. One of the most remarkable cases, in view of the accounts mentioned above, has to do with a broadcast journalist who saw the face of the man he was interviewing momentarily assume reptilian feature and then resume normal human aspect. The TV newsman's female counterpart corroborated his astonishing, claiming to have witnessed the subject's hands acquire reptilian characteristics momentarily.
The Navarrete and Sparks cases suggest that the reptilian entities don these disguises to facilitate interaction with humans, whose aversion to reptiles might become manifest. Curiously enough, this was the reason given by the Overlords in Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End for not revealing themselves upon their arrival on Earth--their batwinged, devilish appearance would been a source of global panic. But Icke's case involving the broadcast journalists hints at a near-perfect control of human guise for operating undetected in our midst.

Conclusion

It is interesting to note that in spite of their presence in ancient chronicles and native legends, sentient reptilian beings do not make an appearance in ufology until relatively recent times. A listing of alien creatures compiled by the late Otto Binder for SAGA UFO Report in 1975 under the ingenious heading "Unidentified Walking Objects" (UWO) reveals a motley array of saucer occupants worthy of the Star Wars Cantina: dwarves with hairy bodies, creatures with glowing orange eyes, ones with three-fingered hands, green skin and hair...but no reptilians. Could contemporary researchers be correct in their belief that the Reptoids are in fact a by-product of the abduction-filled late '80s and early '90s?

Uruguay: 50 Years of X-Files

Uruguay: 50 Years of X-Files

CIOVI, the pioneer organization in the study of the UFO phenomenon, says farewell after half a century without obtaining any proof of alien life. The Uruguayan Air Force receives 40 reports of “sightings” each year.

by ANDRÉS LÓPEZ REILLY

In 2008, the commission that began studying UFOs in Uruguay will celebrate its 50th birthday. It will be a celebration and farewell party, because “people are no longer interested in the subject.” The Uruguayan Air Force, however, received 40 reports of sightings over the past year.

On April 29, 1958, a group of youngsters inaugurated UFO research in Uruguay, inspired by Hollywood-produced “flying saucer” movies and the stories of sightings and strange phenomena arriving from all over the world. They formed the Centro de Investigacion de Objetos Voladores No Identificados (CIOVI – Center For UFO Research).

These Uruguayans are now in their Seventies and openly admit that the force that motivated them at the time was having an encounter with “beings from outer space”.

While dismissed as “crazy” by many, they approached the subject seriously and systematically, to the extent that the investigation system devised by CIOVI was adopted years later by the Uruguayan Air Force’s Comision Receptora de Denuncias Ovni (CRIDOVNI) which has been in operation since 1979.

CIOVI is a non-profit civilian organization which in fact stopped engaging in research years ago, although it maintains a web page and its members remain in touch, always attentive to the news items that emerge all over the world on the subject. The only two members who remain from the original group are Milton Hourcade, who currently resides in the U.S.A., and German Vazquez, whose employment in the personnel office of the defunct “Alpargatas” factory made him the ideal choice for interviewing UFO sighting witnesses.

The remaining six members make up the current board of CIOCI, which shall celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. However, its birthday party shall be its farewell party, because “people have lost interest in the subject and are no longer surprised about anything,” said German Valdez to El Pais in an interview from his home in the Malvin district. 50 yeas later, Vazquez summarizes CIOVI’s research in a single phrase that many may not care to hear: “The UFO phenomenon exists, but it’s sociological. If intelligent alien life exists, it never reached Planet Earth.”

Attraction for “flying saucers” began on June 24, 1947 in the U.S. when Kenneth Arnold saw 9 objects rising and falling amid the peaks of Mount Rainier. “Arnold said they were like saucers skipping on water. Had the pilot been Uruguayan, he would have said “haciendo sapito” (making like small toads). He never said they were flying saucers. When he drew the object, he depicted them with a triangular shape,” added CRIOVNI’s founder.

“The press took hold of the expression and talk of flying saucers began. But what is curious and most eye-catching is that after Arnold, who did not see them, everyone began talking about saucers,” Vazquez continued. “I always tell my comrades, when I see someone who brings me a photo of a saucer-shaped object, I begin to mistrust. This was a journalistic invention with no basis in reality.”

The most typical UFO pilgrimage place in Uruguay by those who want to have some sort of “contact” experience is the La Aurora de Salto ranch, where a strange phenomenon occurred in the 1970s which, according to researchers, was purely meteorological.

CRYONIC shares Cove's belief that no strange phenomenon ever occurred in “La Aurora”.

Sources of the Uruguayan Air Force told El Pays that the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong, visited the ranch on two occasions as a reporter for Newsweek, researching claims on sightings and strange phenomena, but “never as a representative for NASA”.

La Aurora is a agricultural and livestock ranch located only a few meters from the Salt-Payson bridge over the Drayman River. The ranch extends into both of these departments.

In a recent report on the Santos Pendants program of El Spectator, one of the ranch’s owners, Tulia Tuna, recalled the event that made the place prominent 31 years ago. “What we witnessed was as from February 1976. Very powerful lights appeared out of nowhere producing burns on trees, animals and people. That’s what we saw. Then a very powerful light would light up all of the ranches in the vicinity at night. And well, people saw it. It was hard to conceal this because the whole world could see what was going on.”

This phenomenon, described by the Uruguayan Air Force and COVE as “ball lightning”, left the soil charred and some dead animals were found.

“A local doctor from Salt began picking up radiation and some Japanese working at the Salt Grande Dam came over with a gadget that uncovered the presence of high radiation. And that’s what happened to famous Mob tree. It was necessary to close the doors, obviously, out of a concern for people and some stories that circulated that were untrue,” said Tuna.

Access to Estancia La Aurora is through a dirt road that splits off from Route 3. It is not a tourist ranch, as many believe, although it is a popular destination due to is proximity to the well-known Padre Pio grotto.

German Vazquez warns that “some people profit off of this subject” and charge up to $2000 for a visit to La Aurora. “They prepare you for what you’re going to see and then they make you see what they want,” he stated. “A friend paid $2000. He brought some binoculars along and he was told to stare at a fixed point. When he did so, all he saw was a star. Other people wept and said “We saw it! We saw it!,” he explained.

CHILE: UFO IMAGE CAUSES WIDESPREAD SURPRISE
*** Vanished after making loud reports; hundreds witnessed event which surprised even ufologists***

The startling and crisp images of what would appear to be a UFO sighting recorded in broad daylight caused consternation among hundreds of witnesses only days ago.
The subject drew the attention of local and national experts in ufology. Some photographs and vidcaps of the strange event have been collected, all taken by amateurs. Althought the clarity of these images has caused doubt among the researchers, who suspect a photomontage, they have been startled and even more interested in the subject upon learning of the existence of a video, since this would attest to the truthfulness of the event.

In spite of the fact that this spectacular sighting took place over the skies of Salamanca (Chile) in the nation's 4th Region, it represents the continuation of what occured the previous evening in this location. This arises from the account given by Vladimir Puebla, who works for a bus company that covers the Valparaiso-Salamanca route and who also works as a cameraman for Channel 4 in the 4th Region. "The night before the event in Salamanca, I was traveling from Valparaiso toward that location. In the vicinity of Quillota, I noticed a light that began to exhibit strange movements," he explained.

But what hundreds of people saw the next day between 13:30 and 13:40 hours, over the skies of Salamanca, was even more impressive, said Puebla. "For 10 minutes, the object was suspended in the sky. Later, some loud reports were heard, lights resembling flares could be seen, and the object disappeared."

This fact was confirmed by people working for radio broadcasters and one local TV channel, who were also aware of the event. "Many people confirmed this event. Reports were even filed with Carabineros (Chilean state police)," said Sixto Quiroga, the assistant director for Channel 4 in Salamanca.
